The Interest and fascination in drawing landscapes started in childhood and I've always been fascinated by the challenge of capturing on paper the views of the countryside I love. Painting has been my main hobby for nearly 30 years and my work has been exhibited and sold at many Art Exhibitions in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. My paintings have also been selected for hanging in Art Exhibitions at Derby Art Gallery. I use watercolour paints, but my style of painting is realistic and I produce paintings with colours that aim to faithfully represent the scene that is being captured, so that viewing the painting could be like looking through a window onto your favourite holiday view. It has been said that my landscape paintings transmit a sense of peace and tranquillity, which is exactly the way they relate to me.
To summarise, I enjoy painting the landscape, whether it be cliff and coastal views from, say, Cornwall, or the mountain scenery of the Lake District and Scotland. I've also successfully painted animals including hares, horses and cows. Ive also completed many dog portraits to the delight of their owners. With pet portraits, I enjoy capturing the individual character of the subject animal.
