I live in a small village in West Yorkshire and I am a mainly self-taught artist. My favourite medium is oil paint as I have used this from being a teenager, and although I painted as a hobby for many years it was not until much later in my career that I took it more seriously. I love the texture and feel of oil paints and enjoy experimenting with different techniques and also enjoy experimenting with colour. I have had several successful 'one-man' exhibitions in the local area.  I am interested in the effects of light in my paintings and how this affects the colour and mood, irrespective of the subject, and am presently experimenting with abstracts. I have also taken commissions for portraits. Recently I have also started to give demonstrations in oil painting in the local area. I also have pictures on display in Pomfrets Cafe in Wetherby and The Bay Horse in Kirk Deighton.
