I was born in East Anglia on the Essex coast and now live, on the Essex/Suffolk border near Clare. I know the local landscape well and find it a great inspiration for my artwork. Painting and drawing have been my main passion since early childhood.
Painting mainly in watercolours, acrylics and pastels, the subjects I choose are many and varied, from landscapes, boats and seascapes to local historic buildings and animals. I have an acute eye for detail and delight in bringing out the character of my animal subjects.
I have many years of painting experience and am completely self-taught apart from seeking instruction from artists whose work I have admired.
I am a committee member of the Suffolk Art Society and Clare Art Club. I am also a member of several other art societies, including the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, and am a founder member of The Stour Group, a small group of artists exhibiting in East Anglia.
