I was born and brought up on a small hill farm in Mamhilad, South Wales. I always loved to draw and paint and I think that living on an isolated farm helped me to develop my skills as I spent hours on end drawing while my urban friends played with friends. I attended Newport Art College in the 1970's but my Art took a back seat when I married and had my children.

The love of Art always stayed with me and I became a proffessional Artist in 1997. In 2008 I opened my own teaching Studio, Chapel Cottage Studio & Gallery from my home. Since then the Studio has gone from strength to strength and we now have a group of 15 incredibly talented tutors who work with us to provide an extensive range of classes and workshops throughout the year.

My other passion is the beautiful Welsh countryside and the people who live here. I am inspired to paint life as I see it around me - I paint the people and the places that I love. My newest collection of work titled "Abergaveny Cattle Market - A Retrospective" was launched from Chapel Cottage Studio & Gallery this year.
