I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember, but when I was not able to go to art college due to not getting an “O level in English I went into an engineering drawing office and perused a career as a mechanical design engineer, often being the first woman in engineering in many companies. I continued to draw and paint and attended evening classes at local schools and Bornville College of Art in Birmingham. When engineering started to collapse in the Midlands, a few other things happened in my life which made me think that it was now or never to take my art more seriously. I set up art classes locally to where I lived in Meriden and used any spare time to paint. I now run six classes which are proving to be very, very successful with a waiting list on some of them. My art is also changing and developing with me. Email: jph300@hotmail.com
