Lawrence was born in 1958 in Lisburn, Co Antrim, N.Ireland. A self - taught artist he mainly paints in watercolour, pastel and mixed media. His subject matter is wide and varied, painting landscapes, townscapes, seascapes, and most recently wildlife. His style would be classed as a loose realist and considers the ability to paint in detail important. However knowing when to soften detail and what to leave out takes skill and experience.He has held exhibitions of his own work in Hillsborough, Co Down every year since 2008. His commissions are wide and varied and his work can be found in private collections world wide.
