Sara Edwards

Norwich, Norfolk

I paint vibrant, contemporary landscapes in acrylics. The style is geometric and the colours bright. Much of my work is based on the Norfolk landscape of rivers, broads and beaches and is made up of composite scenes, subverting geography in a playful way.

There are particular subjects I am drawn to paint: quadtychs of the seasons; and farming, sometimes contrasting modern and old methods. I have also painted many of Norfolk's beaches, depicting them from the unusual viewpoint of the sea.

Much of my work is commission based, often representing client's homes and gardens or favourite places or holidays, as well as ever-popular pet portraits. I teach small group workshops in my studio, take art workshops in primary schools and exhibit regularly.
