Terry Chipp

Doncaster, South Yorkshire

I was never ‘good at art’ when I was at school but I knew from an early age that I loved it and that it would be important in my life.  Skills did not come easy to me so I learned through trial and error and the guidance of a very good teacher.  I found that having to learn the skills, rather than being gifted, helped me greatly in understanding how to teach them.  I trained as a specialist art teacher at Doncaster College of Art and the University of Durham.  Late in my career I did a Fine Art degree through Hull University and a Masters at Leeds.

I now teach several small art classes, give demonstrations, workshops and talks to art groups and offer individual tuition.   I paint a wide range of subjects with landscapes, architecture and performers recurring most often.  Venice is a particular favourite.
