Arundel Castle at first frost
Arundal Castle nestles in the South Downs and Arun valley. The quaint little town next to it is also very picturesque and there is a bridge over the River Arun. It was difficult to pick a suitable perspective for this painting because they are all so stunning. However, because I wanted this scene to be frosty, I used a more distant perspective to show the frost on the lay of the land and River Arun.
This painting uses the wet on wet technique and the castle was detailed in afterwards. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did in it's creation.
