Birch trees in the winter sunshine
This is the first time that I've tried painting birch trees. Getting the marks and patterns in the bark was a challenge but on the whole I'm pleased with the result. I used several of my own photos for reference and the rest is purely from my own imagination. The addition of the watery winter sun has added a bit of hoped for atmosphere to the overall effect.
