Cherries
Another attempt in pastels - this time from Trevor Osborne's photograph of cherries. I struggled a bit with shadows but overall I am fairly happy with this (although I would have liked more colour choices).
I did try to use more vivid colours but the tones just weren't right and I ended up blending and adding more layers. There is some yellow and orange and bright blue in there - you just just can't see it easily!
Once again I used Rembrandt soft pastels and Daler Rowney Murano paper but I think it might have been better to use pastelmat. I wanted to add more layers but the paper couldn't take any more. I probably need to review my pastel technique. I am used to thick layers of acrylic paint!
