Flute and Cello

This small painting was made in a variety of media, watercolour, pen and acrylics, in response to the shapes and colours of the two instruments. The coppery texture of the background is the warmth of cello, the vertical patterning of the flute echoes over the space between the cello strings and the horizontals tie everything together into a cohesive whole. This was a very satisfying, holistic piece to complete.
