Flutter, 2009
I am fascinated by the way there are two different images when a butterfly falps its wings, the colours on the inside different from those on the outside. I have illustrated this with a monotype print on folded paper, and then raising the folds so that more or less of the picutre is seen depending on your viewpoint (as illustrated in the next photo). The paper pricking of a butterfly adds to the composition and delicacy of the work.
