Grace Nichols From Roker Pier
I was born and raised in Sunderland, NE England, with daily encounters with the local beaches, including Roker. These lines were lifted from a poem by Grace Nichols, the full version of which was transcribed by my 18 year old daughter inside a Christmas gift book one year.
