Alexander Kai

I chose to go about this painting in a way that faintly echoed the aesthetics of the old masters but with a contemporary twist. I used lively brushstrokes and accentuated the colours in the skin to add to the energy of the painting. I find working quickly allows me to capture the essence of a person more veraciously.
To channel the aura surrounding a subject into my work, and have it freeze perfectly in time to be more deeply experienced and understood, is my ultimate goal.
