"Holy Spirit"

The final painting in my "Holy Trinity" series. This image is a very personal version of the "Burning Bush". Whilst some may interpret the fire as consuming - I have shown the tree without leaves but covered with living lichens. It is based on trees at "Wistman's Wood" on Dartmoor which I used to visit when at art college in Exeter. The living oak trees there are part of the primeval forest thet used to cover the whole of Great Britain.
