Into the blue
This piece is created using pastel and pastelmat. It has been created using a photo of the hydrangea bush in our front garden. It is one of the brightest plants and it always attracts the bees. It flowers every summer and lasts the majority of the year. I have always admired the different tones of blue it has in its flowers. I created it using the medium shades of blue first then added the leaf in the foreground using all green tones and a covering of yellow. I finished off by adding the shadows and highlights to the piece.
