Isolation
The cold morning light, streaming through the window, casting bars against the wall seemed to emulate an enclosed environment reminiscent of last spring. To stand in the sun by the window but still be removed from the outside by a thin veil.
The painting, entitled ‘Isolation’, was painted this January during another lockdown.
I used large brushes and worked with high contrast to add to the harshness of the imagery whilst retaining the vulnerability of the figure.
