A technique I used on this piece is one I call glazing. I think the names of different techniques mean different things to different artists - I use very light pressure to add subtle hints of colour to ares of my drawing that are pretty much finished - it helps to add depth and a more real feel to the colours. I'm using Nougat here over Burnt Ochre and Ivory. Nougat is a good neutral colour - we should be aiming to get all the hues into our pieces for realism - especially in brown/golden animals so red browns like Burnt Sienna, Burnt Ochre, neutral browns, like Walnut Brown and Nougat and green browns like Brown Ochre, Bistre.
