New Picture
I found amazing stained glass panels in the back of an antique shop and I had them dated, circa 1860. I then looked for an image to paint for them from around that period and the views from the National Trust property, Mount Stewart in County Down were perfect. Lady Londonderry designed the gardens and I was inspired by the windows in the Guild Hall in Londonderry for the frames. I created a void between the glass and the canvas and made ceramic leaves to cascade from above. Across the top of the frames I positioned perspex to allow the light to trickle down through the leaves creating the impression of daylight.
