Paper+Energy(Heat)=Knowledge series; MATHEMATICS
MATHEMATICS, 2008, Art Book - Fire on cartridge paper, fake velum and handmade paper. In the series Paper+Energy(Heat)=Knowledge, I have sought to illustrate the journey of knowledge from its origin to the student transmitted by paper, and absorbed, or added to by the application of energy. I have used massed produced paper, simulated velum and handmade paper to refer to the history of the recorded word, and have depicted information in sixteen squares to refer to the growing use of electronic data storage. I have chosen for the subjects of my art books the disciplines which I perceive to be the oldest viz. Philosoply, Mathematics, Arts, Engineering.
