Peaceful Solitude
Gilli Austin's "Peaceful Solitude". A realist image of a shady woodland and water scene. Was painted exclusively for my workshops for students to copy. Depicts a scene from a real life garden, Hodnet Hall, Shropshire. It demonstrates techniques of wet in wet, glazes, stippling, washes and drybrush, which all my students are encouraged to practice and master. It's not as hard as you imagine!
