Roseberry In Bloom

“Roseberry In Bloom”.

MEDIUM A felt landscape made from wool and other materials

We love Roseberry Topping in North Yorkshire and having seen it in the winter I really wanted to see it with all the heather in bloom. There is a lot of heather on the hills around Roseberry Topping so it really is an amazing sight. The heather blooms from mid July until September.

We parked at Captain Cooks Monument car park and walked to the top to Captain Cooks monument. It’s quite a gentle climb in comparison to climbing Roseberry Topping itself and doesn’t take too long (about 45 min – 1 hour). At the top we had our picnic then set off to explore all the walking trails in the area.

This view is from Captain cooks Monument looking towards Roseberry Topping. Truly beautiful at any time of year but very special when the heather is in full bloom.
