Rust, Dust and Loved
I've been wanting to paint my little toy VW Camper van for a few years and I've finally done it. Another challenge for myself, working on the metal, chipped paint, rust and dust.
I used a variety of soft pastels and pastel pencils to create this piece, on Pastelmat paper. and it took about 3 days on and off to complete.
This will be part of a series called 'My Favourite Things'.
For anyone that knows me well, I have always wanted a VW Camper van, so the closest thing that brought me near to owning one was this little Tomica toy, including a door that slides open. I bought it from an antiques shop about 20 years ago when I was at Art College. I remember my mum and dad ordering a VW van cake for my 21st birthday as well.
So yes, this is one of my favourite things and one of my little dreams!
