Sinfonia Celebrations
This painting was done in Beverley Minster on the occasion of Hessle Sinfonia's (with whom I am Artist in Residence)25th Anniversary concert. It was started in situ on the evening of the concert and completed in the studio. I have tried to capture the memory and feel of the occasion, using the age of the Minster, the colours of the music and the celebration, and have used the images of the three guest soloists as windows, looking out to the stars as the music soared out and into the evening sky.
