Spring is coming
This painting in my Forest series uses a mixture of paint and collage, acrylics and inks. The technique was inspired by a SAA workshop with Ali Hargreaves.
I experimented some and found that using newsprint with Quink permanent black ink created very effective tree trunks. In one of those happy accidents, the colour changed to a subtle greenish blue; when attached, these were enhanced with inks to darken and add highlights. Acrylic was used other than on the tree trunks, with a limited palette of colours.
