This painting is one of my favourite subjects (lakes and mountains). I've painted and sold this kind of subject before, but, having just been to the Scottish Cairngorms, the mountains in this painting are more rugged than the Lake District mountains in previous paintings! The painting is straight out of my imagination, but reflects the very essence of what I love about the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere of this kind of landscape.
