Step aside from the bustle of the city to see my oil painting exhibition. The paintings were all painted in the past two years in celebration of the extraordinary beauty of the natural world here in Worcestershire. Here you can find floral paintings inspired by the gardens at Spetchley Park and the Ombersley Flower Farm; fruit paintings gleaned from the orchards around us; the props recycled from local charity shops.
The paintings explore three different sources of light and ways of seeing through the seasons. The sunlit flowers with their dramatic shadows; the paintings on gold leaf where the surface itself provides a light source and finally the dramatically lit objects emerging from dark backgrounds freezing a moment in time. Which do you prefer?
