In recent years, there have been periods when one colour has taken precedence in my paintings. I was once mad on blues, working through them one by one to figure out how they can be used to build a painting, and to be the glue that holds it together. Ultramarine, Cobalt, Prussian, and Cerulean each took a turn playing a role in how I formed an abstraction. Nowadays, I am intrigued by the interplay between the figurative and the abstract, and I find myself drawn to Indian Yellow – a bright, luminescent orange-yellow, which adds warmth and depth to any composition.
