– understand the importance of tone, adding light and shade to give your portraits form and impact
– improve your colour knowledge and colour mixing ability to create a successful range of flesh tones
– improve your paint application skills, building layers and understanding the use of glazes
– learn about composition and cropping to enhance the effect and emotion within your portraits
– look at various painting styles to help build your awareness
– understand the importance of play and experimentation to develop exciting backgrounds & push your portraits further
