End of Walkies
“End of Walkies” is my latest painting . . . or is it a drawing?? It was inspired by a photograph I took coming out of the park at ‘the end of walkies’ with my Westie.
The sun was starting to set so the bottom left of the scene was filling with warm sunset colours while diagonally opposite the top right corner was still a cool bright blue. What fascinated me most was the cloud formation. On the left they billowed up from the bottom while the rest of the scene was filled with streaks of thin, wispy clouds fanning out across the sky from that left corner. The pinks and peaches of the setting sun were clipping the edges of the clouds and the whole scene was just screaming out to be painted . . . or drawn.
How was I going to create the range of sky colours and then portray those little wispy clouds on top? That was my dilemma. I’ll tell you all about how I resolved it in my latest blog https://www.youcandrawandpaint.com/capturing-those-ethereal-wispy-clouds-seen-at-the-end-of-walkies
