Bouquet de fleurs

Sylviane Thomas

I was offered this magnificent bunch of flowers, by a friend, as I was depressed following the death of my mother. It cheered me up a lot as I was very touched by the gesture, so I decided to use it as an painting material. In addition to this, I never painted flowers before, so I was not sure, I was capable of it, so it was also a challenge against myself. I was very pleased that I could pull it off as away from my comfort zone of painting seascapes. However, I had to change a bit the composition to balance the harmony.
