Call of the Light
I used the Paint my Photograph website to look for inspiration for my 2015 Christmas card. This urban landscape is a compilation of snowy places - a truly international imaginary scene.
I found a striking photograph of an avenue of trees by Moscow photographer Viacheslav and immediately wanted to paint it . . . with a few additions.
The distant Cathedral is in fact the chapel at the National Trust property, Clumber Park.
The street lights are the local touch - Catherines lamp, in our village churchyard at Holy Trinity Church, Stockton-on-the-Forest.
