We Can Be Heroes!
This is a painting of Ira who is obsessed with films and in particular superheroes, I wanted to create a portrait that immersed him in the world of make believe, and to achieve this I experimented with clear resin. The portrait is painted in oil on canvas board, then covered in a layer of clear resin. The superheroes are painted in acrylic on paper, cut out and placed on the resin in positions to make them look like they are flying around Ira. The whole painting was then covered in two further layers of resin to give it a 3D effect.
