My Favourite

Put your still life skills to the test by gathering a bundle of your favourite things, set up your lighting and get painting.

This challenge will push you to think about your composition as you prepare to paint. This sort of exercise is very rewarding because even if you’re not happy with your end result, you’ve developed an understanding of what went better and what went less well to take you forward in your future compositional work.

We’ll share our favourite paintings over social media and in the Winter ’25 edition of Paint & Create.

Entries must be your own work.  If you have used another artists’ painting, tuition or photograph as your inspiration, please ensure you have gained the appropriate authorisation to publish the image and be sure to credit them accordingly – for example ‘after a painting by…’ or ‘from a photograph of…’
