Pink boots at 3 o'clock

Catherine Embleton

This piece began intuitively with leftover paint, mark making and collage. Many layers later and this colourful mix of the abstract and the representational landscape began to emerge. It includes several references to my own life, including the drystone walls in Yorkshire, used teabags to collage the buildings and part of a map from my native Northeast. There are also many small details for the viewer to discover. The more you look, the more you see.
