For Sale - The Spirit of Wayland lives on

Carl Firstbrook

This watercolour is based on a long barrow on the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire.
For those not familiar with the Ridgeway, Waylands Smithy is a long barrow on the Ridgeway near Uffington white horse. The legend says that it was once inhabited by a master blacksmith called Wayland, and it goes on to say that even now, if you leave your horse at the barrow for a while, you will find it shod with new shoes on your return.
Framed with 15mm blue grey moulding and non reflective glass. Size stated includes the frame.
