Venus de Milo
This was another exciting exercise with my art group. It is the face of Botticelli's Venus de milo. To save time, we traced the face onto the a4 black paper then used a flat brush and acrlic paint to paint in the tiles of various colours onto the paper. I finished mine off by guilding some of the tiles with gold leaf to give it a more opulent look.
The picture was then covered in a thick layer of PVC glue, which when dried gives a shiney clear ssurface, which makes the painting tactile as it makes it feel like a real mosaic. I used SAA brushes.
