Sunset at Rufford Abbey
This was another successful art workshop that I led where we painted Rufford Abby in watercolour.
After Drawing the Abbey from a printed photo, we painted the sunset first. I firstly gave the A4 paper a coat of clear water to dampen the suface to ensure all of the colours would mix perfectly. I staarted tp paint cadmium yellow at the bottom, then Alizaron crimson and then Paynes Grey (Blue Hue) at the top.
Once dry, we painted in the abbey building in a mid brown, then a darker brown for the shoddows and detail. Finally the folaige was painted with a mixture of Van Dyke brown and Paynes Grey (Blue Hue)
Painted with SAA paints and SAA brushes.
