Harboured Within the Walls, Porthleven

Alice Hole

Porthleven is a beautiful harbour town which can be a tranquil oasis on a still spring or summer's day or battered by powerful storms from the turbulent Atlantic in the autumn and winter months. The harbour itself has been built with huge granite walls to protect the fishing boats from the onslaught of the weather. Walking by the harbour at low tide, you can feel the protection of those massive stone walls just as the vessels themselves do, keeping them from harm.
