Rest for a While, Degibna Prayer Chapel
Degibna Prayer Chapel is a beautiful church building on the Penrose Estate. It is an oasis of tranquillity, a peaceful place to come in prayerful meditation and experience stillness in a world that can often seem otherwise. In this painting I tried to capture a moment of peace as the afternoon sun falls on the lovely stone of the chapel’s walls and the trees surrounding it, creating dappled shadows.
I hope the viewer feels as if they are seated on the bench feeling the gentle touch of the sun whilst experiencing a moment of rest.
