The 'Headband'
In graphite and coloured pencil, this study is based on an old photograph which captures a precious moment shared between my younger daughter and my husband. Having recovered from a sprain, she suddenly appeared wearing her wrist support as a headband, causing great hilarity! The original snap was taken in bright flashlight. I have tried to reproduce the dramatic contrast with a very dark background to make the figures jump out. A minimal use of colour highlights the focal point.
