Beach baby paddling
Figure study of my elder daughter, based on an old photograph that brings back happy memories. I have used an underwash of lemon yellow to give a sunny glow, contrasting dark shadows with the play of light on the water and on the figure's hair. This was an attempt to escape being faithful to the original snap which was rather drab and to experiment with bold colour.
