The Gate to Spain

David Allen

During a regular holiday to Mijas in Spain I often wandered the backstreets looking for potential painting subjects. I used to frequently pass this gateway, which was always open, and was always intrigued as to what lay on the other side. Unfortunately I never did find out but kept a photo to remind me of the mystique which I subsequently turned into a watercolour.
