Ralph in bits and pieces

David Allen

Recently I bought a jigsaw of a hare which was described as being in a modernist painting style. It was fragmented into areas of tone but the different tones were represented in different colours. There was no indication of which artist had produced them so they may have been computer generated. However I liked them so much that I have since bought several more and also thought I’d try and copy the style using Ralph as the model. It was a bit hit and miss and the end result isn’t quite as clinical as the jigsaw but I am more than happy with it.
I used a variety of “Script” acrylic paints, Hobbycraft acrylic paints and Series 3 heavy bodied titanium white acrylic on Hobbycraft mixed media paper.
