Wave formation at Cambois
For the last 4 years I have been lucky enough to live on the coast and get huge enjoyment from watching the waves each day as I walk the dogs. How they form, develop and then crash… Having done one waves painting for the challenge in acrylics I decided to use water colours for the representation of the waves at Cambois. Having read the guidance in the SAA magazine I decided to use a combination of white wax crayon and gauche to emphasise the white areas. I had intended to use the roughness of the paper more to highlight white surface patches but that didn’t happen..
Cotman watercolours, white gauche and white wax crayon on Heaton Cooper 300gms rough watercolour paper.
