Cambois Colliery Pit Wheel

David Allen

I walk past this most days when walking the dogs and often wondered how best to capture it - especially now the council has cut down all the overgrown weeds and bushes.
As I was in the mood, I decided to give it the Dotspen treatment. However, once I’d finished that part I decided to bring the wheel forward by giving it some colour. Unfortunately this just made it look like an unfinished piece of work. Therefore I just added some light washes as appropriate - hence it’s a “Dotspen and Wash” painting.
